Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.


Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?


But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. Then Pilate, seeing, that he could prevail nothing, but rather a tumult was made, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just man: see ye to it.


And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.


Having therefore, beloved, these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all pollution of the flesh and of the spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.


I will therefore that men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting:


Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.


For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did, by which we draw nigh to God.


A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.


But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits,


Having purified your souls by obeying the truth thro' the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently:


The antitype whereof, baptism, now saveth us, (not the putting away the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,


And every one that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself even as he is pure.
