But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their only hope is their dying breath.”


For Adonai knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.


The proud have hidden a trap and cords for me. They spread out a net by the path. They set snares for me. Selah


Keep me from the jaws of the trap they have laid for me, and from the snares of the evildoers.


So my spirit grows faint within me. My heart is shocked within me.


For my life is consumed in sorrow and my years in sighing. My strength fails because of my anguish and my bones waste away.


You know my reproach, my shame, my disgrace. All my adversaries are before You.


Like water they surge around me all day. They close in on me together.


Your wrath lies heavily on me. You afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah


Let a cry be heard from their houses when suddenly You bring a troop on them. For they dug a pit to capture me, and hid snares for my feet.


For the shepherds will have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to escape.
