Out of a tight place I called on Adonai— Adonai answered me with a spacious place.
I called upon the LORD in distress: The LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place.
Out of my distress I called upon Jehovah: Jehovah answered me and set me in a large place.
In tight circumstances, I cried out to the LORD. The LORD answered me with wide-open spaces.
I wish that my ways may be directed so as to keep your justifications.
O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications.
The messengers returned to Jacob saying, “We went to your brother, to Esau, and he’s also coming out to meet you—and 400 men with him.”
So they cried out to Adonai in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles.
