as water wears away stones and torrents wash away the soil, so You destroy a person’s hope.


Before his day it will be paid in full and his branch will not be green.

How often are they like straw before the wind; like chaff swept away by a storm?

Behold, Adonai is strong and mighty, like a hailstorm, a destructive tempest, like a downpour of overflowing water, He hurls it down to earth with His hand.
