For forty years I loathed that generation. So I said: ‘It is a people whose heart goes astray, who do not know My ways.’
Where will you be struck again, as you stray away more and more? The whole head is sick, the whole heart faint.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable—who can know it?
Like keepers of a field they surround her, because she has been rebellious against Me.” It is a declaration of Adonai.
I will go to the distinguished and speak to them. Surely they know the way of Adonai, the ordinance of their God. But they too had broken the yoke and torn off the bonds.
They are all stubborn rebels spreading slander. They are bronze and iron, all of them are corrupt.
So My people are bent on turning from Me. Although they are being called upwards, none will rise up.
