Jeremiah 22:12
6 Tagairtí Cros

In his days Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, went up against the king of Assyria to the Euphrates River. King Josiah marched against him, but Neco killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.

Then Pharaoh Necoh installed Eliakim son of Josiah king in place of his father Josiah, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz away and brought him to Egypt, and he died there.

Therefore thus says Adonai about Jehoiakim son of King Josiah of Judah: “They will not lament for him, ‘Oy , my brother!’ or ‘Oy , sister!’ They will not lament for him, ‘Oy , master!’ or ‘Oy , his majesty!’

But as for the land where they long to return, they will never return there.”

For thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, the God of Israel: “As My anger and My fury were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so will My fury be poured out on you, if you will enter Egypt. You will be an execration, a horror, a curse, and a disgrace, and you will never see this place again.”

You will perish among the nations and the land of your enemies will devour you.
