But they flattered Him with their mouth and kept lying to Him with their tongue.
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but one who trusts in Adonai will be kept safe.
When the sentence against a crime is not swiftly carried out, the human heart is encouraged to do evil.
Though grace is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness. Even in a land of uprightness he will act wrongly, not perceiving the majesty of Adonai.
For this is a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to obey the Torah of Adonai.
