Then the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people—the possessions take for yourself.”


When Abram was 99 years old, Adonai appeared to Abram, and He said to him, “I am El Shaddai. Continually walk before Me and you will be blameless.


Then he planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba and called there on the Name of Adonai, the Everlasting God.


so that I may make you take an oath by Adonai, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from among the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am dwelling.


So David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead and said to them, “Blessed are you of Adonai for showing this kindness to Saul your lord, by burying him.
