The heavens are the heavens of Adonai, but the earth He gave to the children of men.


A psalm of David. The earth is Adonai’s and all that fills it— the world, and those dwelling on it.


Moses said to him, “As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to Adonai. The thunder will cease and there will be no more hail—so you may know that the earth is Adonai’s.


For if your brother is grieved on account of food, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy by your food the one for whom Messiah died.


For “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”


But that knowledge is not in everyone—some, so accustomed to idols up until now, eat food as an idol sacrifice; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.


But watch out that this freedom of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.


Behold, to Adonai your God belong the heavens and the highest of heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
