“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited his people and brought them redemption.
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was far advanced in days. Her husband had died seven years after they were married,
but had not consented to their decision and action. He was from Arimathea, a town of the Jews, and was himself also waiting for the kingdom of God.
But we had hoped that he was the one who would redeem Israel. And besides all this, today is now the third day since these things happened.
