Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord.


And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say so.”

deliver me from those who work evil, and save me from bloodthirsty men.


A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul; but to turn away from evil is an abomination to fools.


An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but he whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.


If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.


Is evil a recompense for good? Yet they have dug a pit for my life. Remember how I stood before thee to speak good for them, to turn away thy wrath from them.
