The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent man ignores an insult.


A prudent man conceals his knowledge, but fools proclaim their folly.


Wisdom abides in the mind of a man of understanding, but it is not known in the heart of fools.


Good sense makes a man slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.


Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time; for it is an evil time.


Put no trust in a neighbor, have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom;


And he told her all his mind, and said to her, “A razor has never come upon my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I be shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”
