O God, do not keep silence; do not hold thy peace or be still, O God!


Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,


who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.”


In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents;


And afterward Joshua smote them and put them to death, and he hung them on five trees. And they hung upon the trees until evening;


And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death will fly from them.


And they said to him, “We have come down to bind you, that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines.” And Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not fall upon me yourselves.”


And he said to Jether his first-born, “Rise, and slay them.” But the youth did not draw his sword; for he was afraid, because he was still a youth.


Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, “Rule over us, you and your son and your grandson also; for you have delivered us out of the hand of Midian.”


And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was one thousand seven hundred shekels of gold; besides the crescents and the pendants and the purple garments worn by the kings of Midian, and besides the collars that were about the necks of their camels.


Then he called hastily to the young man his armor-bearer, and said to him, “Draw your sword and kill me, lest men say of me, ‘A woman killed him.’ ” And his young man thrust him through, and he died.


The battle pressed hard upon Saul, and the archers found him; and he was badly wounded by the archers.


And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword, and died with him.
