he dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth upon a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.


And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant and of thy people Israel, when they pray toward this place; yea, hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place; and when thou hearest, forgive.


May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth!


A king's wrath is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew upon the grass.


Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”


What will one answer the messengers of the nation? “The Lord has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge.”


At that time gifts will be brought to the Lord of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide, to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the Lord of hosts.


Thy dead shall live, their bodies shall rise. O dwellers in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For thy dew is a dew of light, and on the land of the shades thou wilt let it fall.


For behold, the Lord is coming forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed upon her, and will no more cover her slain.


His rock shall pass away in terror, and his officers desert the standard in panic,” says the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.


I bring near my deliverance, it is not far off, and my salvation will not tarry; I will put salvation in Zion, for Israel my glory.”


For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, he shall strike root as the poplar;


I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress they seek me, saying,


“So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwell in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy and strangers shall never again pass through it.


Surely the Lord God does nothing, without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
