Now therefore in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the Lord your God; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you for ever.


But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.


For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons; so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.”


You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.


A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.


A righteous man who walks in his integrity— blessed are his sons after him!


If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;


You shall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days for ever.


“You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother; you shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a sojourner in his land.


You shall not make marriages with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons.
