And the king commanded all the people, “Keep the passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”


The blood shall be a sign for you, upon the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall fall upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.


Then Moses called all the elders of Israel, and said to them, “Select lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the passover lamb.


you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he slew the Egyptians but spared our houses.’ ” And the people bowed their heads and worshiped.


And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the passover: no foreigner shall eat of it;


For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.


“In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall celebrate the feast of the passover, and for seven days unleavened bread shall be eaten.


In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening, is the Lord's passover.


“On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Lord's passover.


And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,


“Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning,
