My soul to dust cleaves: quicken me, according to thy word.


Confirm to me thy gracious word, which I did gladly hear, Ev'n to thy servant, Lord, who is devoted to thy fear.


Let thy sweet mercies also come and visit me, O Lord; Ev'n thy benign salvation, according to thy word.


Unless in thy most perfect law my soul delights had found, I should have perished, when as my troubles did abound.


Though I in midst of trouble walk, I life from thee shall have: 'Gainst my foes' wrath thou'lt stretch thine hand; thy right hand shall me save.


I fainted had, unless that I believed had to see The Lord's own goodness in the land of them that living be.


The Lord's my strength and shield; my heart upon him did rely; And I am helped: hence my heart doth joy exceedingly, And with my song I will him praise.


O why art thou cast down, my soul? why, thus with grief opprest, Art thou disquieted in me? in God still hope and rest: For yet I know I shall him praise, who graciously to me The health is of my countenance, yea, mine own God is he.


His loving-kindness yet the Lord command will in the day, His song's with me by night; to God, by whom I live, I'll pray:


Amidst the multitude of thoughts which in my heart do fight, My soul, lest it be overcharg'd, thy comforts do delight.
