For why? the Lord our God is good, His mercy is for ever sure; His truth at all times firmly stood, And shall from age to age endure.


His work most honourable is, most glorious and pure, And his untainted righteousness for ever doth endure.


O praise the Lord, for he is good; his mercy lasteth ever.


They shall come, and they shall declare his truth and righteousness Unto a people yet unborn, and that he hath done this.


Thy tender mercies, Lord, I pray thee to remember, And loving-kindnesses; for they have been of old for ever.


O let thy work and pow'r appear thy servants' face before; And shew unto their children dear thy glory evermore:
