Psalm 14:6

I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”


many are saying to me, “There is no help for you in God.” Selah


How long, you people, shall my honor suffer shame? How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies? Selah


As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.


As with a deadly wound in my body, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me continually, “Where is your God?”


God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.


Because you said, “These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them,”—although the Lord was there—


Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, drum, and entire musical ensemble to fall down and worship the statue that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire, and who is the god that will deliver you out of my hands?”


so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible that God would prove false, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to seize the hope set before us.
