15 Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, drum, and entire musical ensemble to fall down and worship the statue that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire, and who is the god that will deliver you out of my hands?”

But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, blot me out of the book that you have written.”


But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should heed him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go.”


‘Whom have you mocked and reviled? Against whom have you raised your voice and haughtily lifted your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel!


The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery!”


if you do not tell me the dream, there is but one verdict for you. You have agreed to speak lying and misleading words to me until things take a turn. Therefore, tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can give me its interpretation.”


If our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire and out of your hand, O king, let him deliver us.


Then the king gave the command, and Daniel was brought and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you faithfully serve, deliver you!”


When he came near the den where Daniel was, he cried out anxiously to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you faithfully serve been able to deliver you from the lions?”


When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time;


He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he wants to; for he said, ‘I am God's Son.’ ”


When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.


When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say;


If it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”


But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in God's sight to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge;


But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.


And all who sat in the council looked intently at him, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
