How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!


for the Lord pleads their cause and despoils of life those who despoil them.

Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.


Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.


In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.


Through the testing of this ministry you glorify God by your obedience to the confession of the gospel of Christ and by the generosity of your sharing with them and with all others,


not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.


In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit;


I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason


I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,


because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now.


Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;


and I trust in the Lord that I will also come soon.


For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ; I have often told you of them, and now I tell you even with tears.


But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.


Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.


so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.


for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints,


But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love. He has told us also that you always remember us kindly and long to see us—just as we long to see you.


Finally, brothers and sisters, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that, as you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God (as, in fact, you are doing), you should do so more and more.


that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.


having faith and a good conscience. By rejecting conscience, certain persons have suffered shipwreck in the faith;


I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.


not to pilfer, but to show complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the doctrine of God our Savior.


because I hear of your love for all the saints and your faith toward the Lord Jesus.


And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace.


Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness,


Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish;


Beloved, while eagerly preparing to write to you about the salvation we share, I find it necessary to write and appeal to you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
