One who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone the blasphemer. Aliens as well as citizens, when they blaspheme the Name, shall be put to death.


But whoever acts high-handedly, whether a native or an alien, affronts the Lord, and shall be cut off from among the people.


Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy.


for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.


You have heard his blasphemy! What is your decision?” All of them condemned him as deserving death.


“Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter;


but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”—


For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder,


Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, “Who is this who is speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
