In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,


In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country,


and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them.


Amazement seized all of them, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”


Fear seized all of them; and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us!” and “God has looked favorably on his people!”


When this became known to all residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks, everyone was awestruck; and the name of the Lord Jesus was praised.


Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles.


And great fear seized the whole church and all who heard of these things.


Now when Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard of it.


So Joshua defeated the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes, and all their kings; he left no one remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.


And the Gibeonites sent to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, saying, “Do not abandon your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites who live in the hill country are gathered against us.”


But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and those who saw them were terrified.
