those who have turned back from following the Lord, who have not sought the Lord or inquired of him.


When the young man heard this word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.


Jesus said to him, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”


Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.


When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?”


But among you there are some who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the first who were the ones that did not believe, and who was the one that would betray him.


So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples also may see the works you are doing;


Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples;


You are aware that all who are in Asia have turned away from me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.


for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.


but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.”


They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But by going out they made it plain that none of them belongs to us.
