At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask what I should give you.”


then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God.


I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth.


I treasure your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you.


Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.


What the wicked dread will come upon them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.


he taught me, and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live.


Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.


Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.


“Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.


I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.


You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.


On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.


Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples;


I know that you are descendants of Abraham; yet you look for an opportunity to kill me, because there is no place in you for my word.


but they remain under guardians and trustees until the date set by the father.


Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.


Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart.


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.


I write to you, children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young people, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.


As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.


and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.


And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
