When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you keep looking at one another?


and while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”


And they became greatly distressed and began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”


And when they had taken their places and were eating, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.”


They began to be distressed and to say to him one after another, “Surely, not I?”


But see, the one who betrays me is with me, and his hand is on the table.


Then they began to ask one another, which one of them it could be who would do this.


I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But it is to fulfill the scripture, ‘The one who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’


After saying this Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, “Very truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
