“Remember now, O Lord, I implore you, how I have walked before you in faithfulness with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.


There was once a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.


See, he will kill me; I have no hope; but I will defend my ways to his face.


though there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.


where then is my hope? Who will see my hope?


Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.


Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident.


In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and one's children will have a refuge.
