All King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver—it was not considered as anything in the days of Solomon.

Drinking was by flagons, without restraint; for the king had given orders to all the officials of his palace to do as each one desired.


Then the king gave a great banquet to all his officials and ministers—“Esther's banquet.” He also granted a holiday to the provinces, and gave gifts with royal liberality.


So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought to him all the sick, those who were afflicted with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics, and he cured them.
