Then the Lord said to me, ‘The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.


and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.


For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Messiah,” and will deceive many.


For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.


Jesus said to them: ‘Watch out that no-one deceives you.


When you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.


I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.


I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.’


So Jesus said, ‘When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.


Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
