They cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes; they sold girls for wine to drink.


I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away.’ The Lord has spoken.


I will bend Judah as I bend my bow and fill it with Ephraim. I will rouse your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and make you like a warrior’s sword.


Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.


The Lord will send you back in ships to Egypt on a journey I said you should never make again. There you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no-one will buy you.
