Then the Lord said, ‘The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous
‘Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,
For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.
a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
the prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?
Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire – they all conspire together.
While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, ‘Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.’
