And David rose up in the morning. And the Word of Jehovah came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,

And David rose up in the morning. And the Word of Jehovah came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,
And he struck Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground. Even with two lines he measured to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, bringing gifts.
And David was then in the stronghold, and the Philistines garrison was then at Bethlehem.
And some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.
And the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,
And he set the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with harps, and with lyres, according to the command of David, and of Gad the king's seer and Nathan the prophet. For the commandment was by the hand of Jehovah by His prophets.
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? And who, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I put my trust in Jehovah; how can you say to me, Flee like a bird to the mountains;
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for truly I say to you, In no way shall you have finished the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.
And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab, Please let my father and my mother come forth and be with you until I know what God will do for me.
And the prophet Gad said to David, Do not stay in the stronghold. Leave and go into the land of Judah. And David left and came into the forest of Hareth.
