Now Jonathan and Ahim´a-az stayed by En–ro´gel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.


and he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abi´athar the priest, and Jo´ab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.


For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abi´athar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adoni´jah.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
