And he distributed among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to the women and to the men, to every one a loaf of bread, and a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed every one to his house.


And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.


And he gave to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.


Nevertheless for your great mercies’ sake you did not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for you are a gracious and merciful God.


Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until he has mercy upon us.


And they rose up early on the next day, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.


Sustain me with cakes of raisins, refresh me with apples: for I am sick with love.


Look unto me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.


Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says the LORD.


Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart is troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD.


How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you as Admah? how shall I set you as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassion is stirred.


For their mother has played the harlot: she that conceived them has done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.


Harlotry and wine and new wine take away the heart.


In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers.


And they lay themselves down upon clothes taken in pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.


That drink wine in bowls, and anoint yourselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.


Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.


Therefore thus says the LORD; I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts, and a measuring line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.


And Jesus said unto him, Friend, why are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.


You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.


Neither be you idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.


For the time past of our life will suffice us to have done the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in licentiousness, lusts, excess of wine, reveling, carousing, and abominable idolatries:


And they put away the foreign gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.


And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trod the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.
