Behold, I will send you Eliyahu the prophet before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes.
and said to his servants, *This is Yochanan the immerser. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.*
In those days, Yochanan the immerser came, preaching in the wilderness of Yehudah, saying,
King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, *Yochanan the immerser has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.*
But others said, *It is Eliyahu.* Others said, *It is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets.*
It happened, as he was praying alone, that the talmidim were with him, and he asked them, *Who do the multitudes say that I am?*
He said to them, *But who do you say that I am?* Kefa answered, *The Messiah of God.*
They asked him, *What then? Are you Eliyahu?* He said, *I am not.* *Are you the Prophet?* He answered, *No.*
They asked him, *Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Eliyahu, nor the Prophet?*
Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, *This is truly the prophet.*
Therefore they asked the blind man again, *What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?* He said, *He is a prophet.*
