Yehoiada the Kohen commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, Have her forth between the ranks; and him who follows her kill with the sword. For the Kohen said, Don't let her be slain in the house of the LORD.


While he was still speaking, behold, Yehudah, one of the Twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief Kohen and elders of the people.


In that hour Yeshua said to the multitudes, *Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn't arrest me.


For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: 'He was counted with the lawless.' For that which concerns me has an end.*


He went away, and talked with the chief Kohanim and captains about how he might deliver him to them.


But Yeshua answered, *Let me at least do this*--and he touched his ear, and healed him.


When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn't stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.*


While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. Those whom you have given me I have kept. None of them is lost, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.


Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.
