Ya`akov traveled to Sukkot, built himself a house, and made shelters for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Sukkot.


In the plain of the Yarden did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Sukkot and Tzaretan.


God has spoken from his sanctuary: *I will triumph. I will divide Shekhem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.
