As for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Yehudah lived in Kiryat-Arba and the towns of it, and in Divon and the towns of it, and in Yekavtze'el and the villages of it,


You daughter who dwells in Divon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Mo'av is come up against you, he has destroyed your strongholds.


Judgment is come on the plain country, on Cholon, and on Yahtzah, and on Mefa`at,


and on Kiryatayim, and on Beit-Gamul, and on Beit-Me`on,


The destroyer shall come on every city, and no city shall escape; the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as the LORD has spoken.


therefore, behold, I will open the side of Mo'av from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beit-Yeshimot, Ba`al-Me`on, and Kiryatayim,


and from Mattanah to Nachali'el; and from Nachali'el to Bamot;


For Cheshbon was the city of Sichon the king of the Amori, who had fought against the former king of Mo'av, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.

It happened in the morning, that Balak took Bil`am, and brought him up into the high places of Ba`al; and he saw from there the utmost part of the people.

While Yisra'el lived in Cheshbon and its towns, and in `Aro`er and its towns, and in all the cities that are along by the side of the Arnon, three hundred years; why didn't you recover them within that time?
