Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Shet, *for God has appointed me another child instead of Hevel, for Kayin killed him.*


He created them male and female, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.


The days of Adam after he became the father of Shet were eight hundred years, and he became the father of sons and daughters.


Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.


How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?


Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me.
