All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. He said, *For I will go down to She'ol to my son mourning.* His father wept for him.
They came to Ya`akov their father, to the land of Kena`an, and told him all that had happened to them, saying,
Ya`akov, their father, said to them, *You have bereaved me of my children! Yosef is no more, Shim`on is no more, and you want to take Binyamin away. All these things are against me.*
He said, *My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left. If harm happens to him along the way in which you go, then you will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to She'ol.*
and the one went out from me, and I said, *Surely he is torn in pieces;* and I haven't seen him since.
They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Kena`an, to Ya`akov their father.
Yisra'el said to Yosef, *I didn't think I would see your face, and behold, God has let me see your seed also.*
I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn't reject the light of my face.
If I had called, and he had answered me, yet I wouldn't believe that he listened to my voice.
*When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn't believe them.
While they still didn't believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, *Do you have anything here to eat?*
