I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.


Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;


He who gives answer before he hears, that is folly and shame to him.


He who pleads his cause first seems right; until another comes and questions him.


See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your ordinary [food], and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Pelishtim, who are ashamed of your lewd way.


*Does our Torah judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?*


*Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense which I now make to you.*


To whom I answered that it is not the custom of the Romans to give up any man to destruction, before the accused has met the accusers face to face, and has had opportunity to make his defense concerning the matter laid against him.


For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to also specify the charges against him.*


*I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before you this day concerning all the things that I am accused by the Judeans,
