Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their back, and killed your prophets that testified against them to turn them again to you, and they committed awful blasphemies.


Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;


The LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear),


I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return you now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and don't go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.


therefore thus says the LORD, the God Tzeva'ot, the God of Yisra'el: Behold, I will bring on Yehudah and on all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.


and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Yerushalayim.


For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?


Furthermore the LORD spoke to me, saying, I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people:


forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.


and, *a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.* For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
