Uriyah said to David, The ark, and Yisra'el, and Yehudah, abide in booths; and my lord Yo'av, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open field; shall I then go into my house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.


Since the day that I brought forth my people Yisra'el out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Yisra'el to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Yisra'el.


*Our fathers had the tent of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moshe commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;
