for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Yisra'el out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle.


Yarov`am said to his wife, Please get up and disguise yourself, that you not be known to be the wife of Yarov`am; and get you to Shiloh: behold, there is Achiyah the prophet, who spoke concerning me that I should be king over this people.


Yarov`am's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Achiyah. Now Achiyah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.


So Shlomo thrust out Avyatar from being Kohen to the LORD, that he might fulfill the word of the LORD, which he spoke concerning the house of `Eli in Shiloh.


So the children went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Kena`anim, and gave them into their hands, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.


So that he forsook the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;


He struck his adversaries backward. He put them to a perpetual reproach.


then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.


Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? All the people were gathered to Yirmeyahu in the house of the LORD.


that there came men from Shekhem, from Shiloh, and from Shomron, even eighty men, having their beards shaved and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves, with meal offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.


and the land is subdued before the LORD; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards the LORD, and towards Yisra'el; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the LORD.


which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Yehoshua when they entered into the possession of the nations, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, to the days of David,


There remained among the children of Yisra'el seven tribes, which had not yet divided their inheritance.


The men arose, and went: and Yehoshua charged those who went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me; and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD in Shiloh.


These are the inheritances, which El`azar the Kohen, and Yehoshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the tribes of the children of Yisra'el, distributed for inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tent of meeting. So they made an end of dividing the land.


and they spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Kena`an, saying, the LORD commanded Moshe to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs of it for our livestock.


When the children of Yisra'el heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Yisra'el gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.


However, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass over to the land of the possession of the LORD, in which the LORD's tent dwells, and take possession among us: but don't rebel against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar besides the altar of the LORD our God.


The children of Re'uven and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Menasheh returned, and departed from the children of Yisra'el out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Kena`an, to go to the land of Gil`ad, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the mitzvah of the LORD by Moshe.


So they set them up Mikhah's engraved image which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.


They found among the inhabitants of Yavesh-Gil`ad four hundred young virgins, who had not known man by lying with him; and they brought them to the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Kena`an.


They said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD from year to year in Shiloh, which is on the north of Beit-El, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Beit-El to Shekhem, and on the south of Levonah.


When she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, and one efah of meal, and a bottle of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.


This man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice to the LORD of Armies in Shiloh. The two sons of `Eli, Chofni and Pinechas, Kohanim to the LORD, were there.
