When the Syrians saw that they were put to the worse before Yisra'el, they gathered themselves together.


It was told David; and he gathered all Yisra'el together, and passed over the Yarden, and came to Chelam. The Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.


God raised up [another] adversary to him, Rezon the son of Elyada, who had fled from his lord Hadad`ezer king of Tzovah.


David struck Hadad`ezer king of Tzovah to Chamat, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Perat.


When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadad`ezer king of Tzovah, David struck of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
