And he burned the house of the Lord and the king’s house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.
These also King David dedicated to the Lord, together with the silver and gold that he had carried off from all the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek.
All their cities in the places where they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire,

But Rahab the prostitute and her father’s household and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive. And she has lived in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
So Joshua burned Ai and made it forever a heap of ruins, as it is to this day.
And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire,
