Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. Tonight you will say you don’t know me. You will say this three times before the rooster crows.”
So you must always be ready. You don’t know when the owner of the house will come back. He might come in the afternoon, or at midnight, or in the early morning, or when the sun rises.
Peter said, “All the other followers may lose their faith. But I will never lose my faith.”
But Peter answered strongly, “I will never say I don’t know you! I will even die with you!” And all the other followers said the same thing.
But Jesus said, “Peter, before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say you don’t know me. You will say this three times!”
Jesus answered, “Will you really give your life for me? I tell you the truth. Before the rooster crows, you will say three times that you don’t know me.”
The girl at the gate said to Peter, “Are you also one of the followers of that man (Jesus)?”
So the person that thinks he is standing strong should be careful that he doesn’t fall.
