I tell you the truth. Many prophets {\cf2\super [182]} and good people wanted to see the things that you now see. But they did not see these things. And many prophets and good people wanted to hear the things that you now hear. But they did not hear these things.


I tell you, many prophets {\cf2\super [191]} and kings wanted to see the things that you now see. But they did not see these things. And many prophets and kings wanted to hear the things that you now hear. But they did not hear these things.”


Jesus answered, “I told you already, but you did not believe. I do miracles {\cf2\super [169]} in my Father’s name. Those miracles show who I am.


I know you are Abraham’s {\cf2\super [137]} people. But you want to kill me. Why? Because you don’t want to accept my teaching.


The Jews said, “Our father {\cf2\super [138]} is Abraham. {\cf2\super [139]} ”


All those great men continued living with faith until they died. Those men did not get the things that God promised his people. The men only saw those things coming far in the future and were glad. Those men accepted the fact that they were like visitors and strangers on earth.


All these people are known for their faith. But none of these people got God’s great promise.
