I will bless people who bless you, and I will curse people who curse [71] you. I will use you to bless all the people on earth.”

I will bless people who bless you, and I will curse people who curse [71] you. I will use you to bless all the people on earth.”
Abraham will become a great and powerful nation. And all the people on earth will be blessed because of him.
Every nation on the earth will be blessed through your descendants. [127] I will do this because you obeyed me.”
You will have many, many descendants. [163] They will be as many as the pieces of dust on earth. They will spread east and west, north and south. All the families on earth will be blessed because of you and your descendants.
I will make you and the woman enemies to each other. Your children and her children will be enemies. You will bite her child’s foot, but he will crush your head.”
Men from Judah’s family will be kings. The sign that his family rules will not leave his family, before the real king comes. [257] Then many people will obey and serve him.
Then Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [393]} Jesus started with the books of Moses and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him.
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “Remember what Moses wrote in the law. Moses wrote about a man that was coming. The prophets {\cf2\super [30]} wrote about him too. We have found him. His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph. He is from Nazareth.”
But you don’t believe what Moses wrote. So you cannot believe the things I say.”
But God helped me, and he is still helping me today. With God’s help I am standing here today and telling all people the things I have seen. But I am saying nothing new. I am saying the same things that Moses and the prophets {\cf2\super [498]} said would happen.
Christ ended the law so that every person that believes in him is made right with God.
I stopped living for the law. It was the law that killed me. I died to the law so that I can now live for God. I (my old life) was killed on the cross with Christ.
But people who depend on following the law \{to make them right\} are under a curse. Why? Because the Scriptures say, “A person must do all the things that are written in the law. {\cf2\super [28]} If he does not always obey, then that person is under a curse!” {\cf2\super [29]}
The law put a curse on us. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us. Christ put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “When a person’s body is put (hung) on a tree, {\cf2\super [32]} that person is under a curse.” {\cf2\super [33]}
So the law was our master until Christ came. After Christ came, we could be made right with God through faith.
The Lord your God will send to you a prophet. [120] This prophet will come from among your own people. He will be like me. You must listen to this prophet.
