Then Jehoiada made the agreement between the Lord and the king and the people. This agreement showed that the king and the people belonged to the Lord. You will make the 50th year a special year. You will announce freedom for all the people living in your country. This time will be called ‘Jubilee.’ [424] Each of you will go back to his own property. [425] And each of you will go back to his family.
“You might buy a Hebrew man or woman to serve you as a slave. You may keep that person as a slave for six years. But in the seventh year, you must let that person go free.
